Sweet dreams

When I woke up this morning I'd been having a bizarre dream. It was crazy. I also thought it was totally plausible as the plot of a pretty decent book or movie. I never remember my dreams, and this one was fading fast, so I dug around in my nightstand drawer looking for a pen and paper to jot down some of the crazy before it left me.

Sadly, my cray-cray notes didn't give me much to go on inspiration-wise. It all made total sense in my dream, but looking at what I wrote this morning, it's just... Well... Nonsensical.

People:
Eccentric older man posing as butler.
Woman wearing eye-patch, lost memory
Harvey(?!) - Older man living in home
Younger man - Son
Young woman- engaged to younger man

Butler is actually owner of home, married to eye-patch lady, but she's forgotten him and thinks Harvey is her husband. No one knows otherwise except him. Butler stays and watches over her. Younger man is woman's son--not sure if he's Butler, or Harvey's kid. Girl comes home with him to "meet the family" and begins to unravel strange past of the family.

Uhhhhh... What?

Who knows, maybe I should flesh this out. It could be the next great American novel, right?

I'll be like Flora Poste, perhaps... "When I am 53, I hope to write a novel as good as "Persuasion," but in a modern setting."

To write, or not to write?

Writing IS one of those things I want to take with me into the rest of my life... but I'm not sure that writing this particular dream out is the way to get there... Something to think about.
